Gram, the new name of Palm

After HP Acquire Palm and changed his name to WebOS, Global Business Unit (GBU) under the company, Palm again changing. This time in the form of reincarnation brand name to "Gram".

The focus of the business is also changing from consumer devices to "software, user experience (UX), cloud, engineering, and partnering".

Palm to GramWebOS GBU is a business unit under the HP, but Gram will be made into a separate company, is wholly owned by HP but leaning seeking outside investment.

Still unclear what the product will be made by this company. About that, Martin, Chief of Staff of HP worried ordered the employees to shut up about the products that will be offered by Gram.

Palm was once a manufacturer of personal digital assistant devices (PDAs) are known through leading products such as the Palm Pilot and Palm Treo. WebOS is the operating system name of the device is made to replace an earlier version, Palm OS.

The company was acquired by HP in 2010. Mid-2011, HP stopping production of all webOS-based hardware devices, including smartphones and tablets

HP Touchpad, WebOS with big screen

Finally, HP's entry into the tablet market. With the latest release tablet that is named HP Touchpad. The presence of these products increasingly fierce competition in the world confirms the tablet-not just from the product side, but from the side of the platform as well.

HP TouchpadHP Touchpad will carry the operating system called WebOS. If you remember, WebOS is an operating system developed by Palm and is introduced through a mobile phone, Palm Pre and PalmPixi. However, since Palm bought HP last year, WebOS like missing. Well, this is the new touchpad, WebOS comes back.

From the screenshots shown HP, WebOS appearance relatively unchanged. On the front page there are the Quick Launch bar contains shortcuts to frequently used applications, such as web browsers, mail, instant messenger, and gallery. While the application is currently active and is in the background (WebOS already supports multitasking) is displayed in the form of "cards".

HP Touchpad itself has a size 9.7-inch screen with a resolution of 1024x768. These specifications are the same as Apple iPad, but not as high as Motorola Xoom which has a resolution of 1280x800. Processor using Qualcomm APQ8060 which is a two-core processor with a speed of 1.2 GHz. Touchpad itself is not a mobile device, because it only relies on WiFi as a connection to the internet. But HP promises Touchpad can synchronize to the device based smartphone WebOS.

Speaking of smartphones, at the same time HP also released two new smartphones based WebOS, namely Pre3 and Veer. HP Pre3 is a smartphone for the business segment that offers 3.58 inches and a physical keyboard. While HP Veer is a tiny device the size of the hand with a handful still has a physical keyboard.

    HP Pre 3 webOS Smartphone, The Pre 2′s successor

    Other Smartphones successor of Palm Pre 2, which was launched this HP comes with a platform other than webOS, recorded with some specifications such as WVGA touch screen is 3.6 inches with a resolution of 480x800 pixels and a slider QWERTY keyboard. For business pengabadi picture, HP Pre 3 has a 5 megapixel main camera with autofocus and LED flash.     HP Veer, Smartphone Mini from 'HP-Palm'

    Not only tablet that will launch the HP (Hewlett Packard), HP also will launch a new mobile phone which is a continuation series of Palm Pre 2 the first mobile phone released since HP's acquisition of Palm.

    PalmPad Topaz and Opal leaked, the first Tablet with WebOS

    Since Hewlett Packard acquired Palm a year ago, Hewlett Packard (HP) plans to continue to develop a WebOS platform for computer products, tablets, and smartphones. However, until now not clear when HP will start out with WebOS products to market.

    Some of rumors on the internet predicted that the first tablet-tech Palm would likely be introduced soon. Engadget technology blog site, named the two models designed tablet that deserves believed to HP. One of them with a 9 inch screen is called Topaz, while others with smaller screens only 7 inches is called Opal. Topaz apart with wider screen also features a front camera, a micro USB port at the bottom, and 1.2 GHz processor

    It’s likely that both tablets will display 1024 x 768; will be supported by HP Beats audio; play Flash video and allow “true multi tasking which allows 20 apps to run simultaneously” and will have an inductive charger, which means it will charge in the way a cordless phone does – without a wire between the charger and the tablet. HP’s Palm tablet has a microUSB port and multiple speakers.

    HP launched the Palm Pre 2, with webOS.

    Since buying Palm earlier this year, Hewlett Packard (HP) for the first time issued a new smartphone. Palm Pre 2, which was announced on Tuesday (19/10/2010), will use the operating system webOS 2.0, the latest version of the artificial Palm smartphone platform that was announced with the announcement of the launch of Palm's Pre 2.
