As if to match the features of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), a mainstay of BlackBerry, Apple presents iMessage. iMessage is a Apple cloud computing-based data services that functions the same as BlackBerry Messenger.

Tavis McCourt of Morgan Keegan analyst firm mengistilahkan iMessage is a shot that directly led to the fuel. In fact, the fuel that has more than 40 million global users is one key to RIM's success outside the United States.

RIM relies on its sales growth in Latin America and Asia where they gained popularity because of BlackBerry Messenger feature. Well, could undermine the popularity viewed iMessage BlackBerry Messenger in this region that the edges are reduced sales of the BlackBerry.

iMessage
"Given Apple's history, we think iMessage not be released if it does not have a competitive delivery time and a good performance," said Tavis, as he believes that ultimately the same iMessage good performance if compared with the BlackBerry Messenger.

Mike Abramsky, an analyst at RBC Capital Markets also assess iMessage will tempt young people BlackBerry user loyalty  to switch to the iPhone. According to him, the arrival of iMessage brings uncertainty as to whether the BlackBerry Messenger will remain competitive in the long term.
On the other hand, the pressure is more intense for the BlackBerry Messenger is expected to come from Android. Tavis view that given the rapid growth, Google might be triggered to make the same messenger service function to the BlackBerry Messenger.
