ZTE Mimosa X, The First Tegra-powered Smartphone and Icera Modem Technology

ZTE is preparing to release a smartphone with dual-core processors this year. Android-based handset, named Mimosa X will use mobile processors NVIDIA Tegra 2 and NVIDIA Icera 450 HSPA modem.

ZTE Mimosa X will carry Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and equipped with capacitive touch screen TFT 960 x 540 pixels.

Equipped with a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus feature in the back side. There is also a 0.3 megapixel front camera for video call support activities.

In addition to GPS, WiFi and Bluetooth built in, ZTE Mimosa X also provides management accelerator for screen orientation, update firmware over the air (FOTA) and the proximity sensor.

Other features of ZTE Mimosa X is such advanced audio distribution profile (A2DP), Dolby sound, digital living network alliance compatibility (DLNA) to facilitate sharing of content, the ability to play and record HD video and dual microphone.

ZTE Mimosa X also includes a baseband processor Icera, making it the first phone to use this technology, after NVIDIA acquired last year.

Hopefully Tegra processor will have a major impact on the mainstream world of mobile communications in a few months or years. ZTE Mimosa X is expected to be launched around the second quarter of 2012.
